Offensive and Dangerous Firearms Consultation

By now, hopefully you have heard about the consultation for change in legislation affecting .50 calibre rifles and MARS Actioned Rifles. Essentially calling for them to be "banned" by moving them to Section 5.

If you think that this "gun grab" does not affect you since they're only talking about .50 cal and MARS actioned rifles, then you are mistaken. The rationale used for this change of legislation is not as before (with pistols and Semi-Auto Centrefire) a knee jerk to event(s) that have happened, it is simply based on the wishes of the police commission to eradicate these types of rifles.

The knock on effect of this is that if they can criminalise firearms on a whim with no supporting evidence that it will save even one life, then it leaves them open to accomplish their ultimate goal of disarming civilians of all firearms, or at the very least put even tighter regulations and make civilian shooting a thing of the past, or for only those willing to spend a small fortune jumping through the hoops. If the have to do it piece by piece, action by action or calibre by calibre, then that's what they will do. We must do all we can to put an end to this before it begins.
